I’ve been called pedantic and dense more times than I can count, and you know what? They’re right. Not because I don’t care, but because I’ve spent too many years bathing in the murky hot tub of “movement language” until I started to believe it was water.

We are drowning our own people in words they never asked for. “Transformative frameworks”? “Multi-racial coalitional power”? Jesus wept. It’s like we built a tower out of syllables so tall we can’t hear anyone on the ground.

And here’s the cruel irony: when Republicans talk like half-drunk uncles at a fish fry, they win. They don’t have better arguments; they have shorter sentences. We, meanwhile, keep auditioning for a seminar on how to describe oppression instead of how to end it.

If voters don’t know what “authoritarian” means, that’s not proof of their ignorance - it’s proof of our failure. They don’t need us to teach a vocabulary class. They need us to fight like hell with words that cut through the noise and actually land.

So yeah, I’m pedantic, I’m dense, and I’m done. No more 40-dollar words when a four-letter one will do.
